Our multidisciplinary team of engineering designers, environmentalists, transport and urban planners has pioneered sustainable practices across buildings, urban development, and infrastructure projects. These efforts include adoption of clean energy solutions, implementing energy efficiency measures, green cities and designing climate-resilient infrastructure. As market leaders within the region, we are proud to have 14 EDGE Experts certified by the International Finance Corporation (IFC).
Our Sustainability Expertise
Our commitment to sustainable design is evident in our extensive portfolio of projects that have achieved LEED and EDGE certifications. Key projects include:
• I&M Bank, Rwanda: This building received EDGE Advanced Certification achieving savings of 58% in energy, 51% in water and 21% in embodied material.
• Aga Khan University Hospital, Nairobi: This facility attained EDGE Advanced Certification by incorporating innovative sustainability features such as porosity in design, which enhances ventilation and reduces energy consumption. Operational savings include 41% in energy, 22% in water, and 28% in embodied materials.
• Britam Towers, Nairobi: Among the first projects in Kenya to achieve EDGE certification, this iconic office tower achieved 39% energy savings, 50% water savings, and a 30% reduction in embodied materials, translating to an operational carbon reduction of 620.45 tCO₂ annually.
• Garden City Mall, Nairobi: One of Kenya’s premier retail malls, this project earned LEED Gold Certification, setting a benchmark for sustainable retail developments.
• Wrigleys Gum Confectionery Factory: This facility achieved LEED Gold Certification with 62 points, demonstrating excellence in sustainable design and operational efficiency.
