AIRPORT INFRASTRUCTURE UPGRADING
Kisumu International Airport
Client: Kenya Airport Authority via Netherlands Airport Consultants BV (NACO)
The upgrading of the Kisumu International Airport project was initiated by the Government of Kenya through its implementing agency, the Kenya Airport Authority, to boost the airport’s passenger handling capacity.
The scope of services involved
widening of existing runway from 30m to 45m and extension of the runway from 2-3km;
construction of access roads and parking area,
construction of a new passenger terminal building of light metal structure with metal roofs supported by reinforced concrete structures.
KAA contracted the engineering design scope to Netherlands
Airport Consultants BV (NACO) who subcontracted Howard Humphreys as their local partners to support in mechanical, electrical, civil, structural, engineering consultancy services during construction supervision stage.
