Murang'a Bulk Water Supply

The Project entailed design, construction and supervision of bulk water supply to the larger Murang’a District including sewerage for Murang’a Town and sanitation improvement for other key towns.
The scope of work involved:
• Design of 3 treatment works , 300km of new pipelines, 16 km of sewer

1. Kandara bulk water supply project – Plain sedimentation water treatment plant at Ichichi of capacity of 24,856m3/day
2. Muranga Bulk water supply Project – Conventional full chemical water treatment plant at Kiawambeu of capacity 10,361m3/day
3. Muranga sewerage project – Modification of existing wastewater treatment plant at Kambirwa to handle 3,962m3/day

• Construction supervision of all works
• Carrying out Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA)
• The project helped to ensure steady water supply to more than 123,000 people.
